471848 Indicator:Prevalence of daily e-cigarette use among adults (%) - Sex:Both sexes % Rationale: Crude prevalence rates can be used to assess the actual use of e-cigarettes in a country and to generate an estimate of the number of e-cigarette users in the population. Definition: The crude rate, expressed as a percentage of the total population, refers to the number of current users of e-cigarettes per 100 population of the country. When this crude prevalence rate is multiplied by the country’s population, the result is the number of current users of e-cigarettes in the country. The definition of "current" varies between surveys, but often means use of e-cigarettes at least once during a defined period leading up to the survey date. E-cigarettes are defined differently in national surveys, but can be generally described as electronic nicotine delivery systems that do not contain tobacco.
