165371 Lower chamber elected % What percentage of the lower (or unicameral) chamber of the legislature is directly elected in popular elections? Direct election includes seats reserved for special groups (e.g., ethnic groups or women) so long as these members are chosen by popular election. Exceptions to the norm of direct election include members who are appointed, e.g., by an executive, the military, or a theocratic body. Thus, if 10 of a lower chamber is appointed in some fashion the correct answer to this question would be 90.
